Alle Tage characters ☆ 104 Alle TageAbel Nema the main character of this novel by Hungarian born Terezia Mora is one of the most fascinating acuaintances I've recently meteven in books He's forced to leave his country ex Yugoslavia and comes to a foreign city Berlin where he starts a new life with the help of strangers People are fascinated by him they feel attracted to the black clad uiet beautiful young man who spends all his nights in a language laboratory to perfect his ten languages And he succeeds He's fluent in all of them and speaks them without any accent at all but still he's isolated and stays strangely aloof from everything and everyone around him accepting that people take care of him without getting too attached to anyone himself except his old schoolmate Ilias who's been declared dead during the war and who he is strangely in love with Great prose very atmospheric draws one into the scenery Lovable

Alle Tage characters ☆ 104 Alle TageI tried very hard to like this book It has a uirky poetic style to it that I appreciate However it was unreadable for me because the characters were so distant and inaccessable that I didn't care what happened to them Maybe I should be sophisticated I had to stop about halfway through very rare

Alle Tage characters ☆ 104 Alle TageSlowly paced but very worthwhile read from a remarkable author She reminds me of Herta Muller in her slightly off kilter wit and deadpan prose If the hallucinatory climax was a little over the top and incongruous in comparison with the rest of the writing I felt the author did a fine job of describing the identity crisis of multicultural Europe

Alle Tage characters ☆ 104 Alle TageAlle Tage is the first novel of Terezia Mora a hungarian author living in Berlin Reading it feels like reading like a long long poem The language is very prowerful and there are strong images Sometimes I got lost in the beauty of words and mildly confused in terms of the story which seems to be part of the concept The story is about Abel Nema a young man who flees a war and is searching for a place he feels home After an acciden

Alle Tage characters ☆ 104 Alle TageI think that the biggest problem is czech translation It could be virtuosity of language in German original but in translation is a lot of sentences really halting and not easy to read So yes sometimes was pleasure to read Abel Nema is fascinating person but sometimes is was kind of boring So looooong description
