    characters Ó Jewish Images in the Comics Û PDF DOC TXT or eBook Jewish Images in the ComicsThis book was an absolute trainwreck 1 I am glad that Stroemberg was upfront about not being Jewish but he should have had a Jewish editor His explanations of Jewish holidays and customs were often nonsensical oddly esoteric monolithic or generally misinformed I'm also not sure he understands that someone can be a non practicing Jew but still retain a strong Jewish identity It was clear he assumed he would be writing for a non Jewish audience but I can't imagine a Gentile reader would understand even the basics of Shabbat or kashrut enough to appreciate their presence in comics2 Often times this would lead to his text being plain wrong or he would make oddly adamant assertions about certain Jewish debates that he has no authority to weigh in on For example several times he referenced that Judaism is matriarchal and so if only
