    NobrowThe Culture of Marketing the Marketing of Culture Free read Þ 108 NobrowThe Culture of Marketing the Marketing of CultureJohn Seabrook is an excellent thoughtful writer and I enjoyed his behind the scenes descriptions of what life at the New Yorker was like during a tumultuous period of transition at the magazine As an author he tends to jump around a bit and I sometimes have trouble following his transitions perhaps my biggest complaint about this book is that at times it can read like a bunch of different New Yorker articles stapled together But his larger point about the contemporary merging of culture and marketing and what the ramifications of that may be is a very worthwhile discussion so I have to forgive any choppiness in the service of a great thought provoking read
